Personal Shopping Experience

Books truly are the gift that keeps on giving, but sometimes it can be hard to decide which to buy, especially for the bookworms in your life. Our Personal Shopping Experience allows you to gift them a pile of books that you know they'll enjoy, as they can sit down with one of our booksellers and discuss exactly what books they would like to read.

How it works:

Once you purchase a gift experience, one of our booksellers will create a gift letter that can be sent directly to you or the gift recipient via Royal Mail*. The gift letter includes details on the experience and how to book in with us.

*Please let us know which address you would like it to be sent to when completing your online order. You can also provide a gift message at checkout which our booksellers will include in your recipient’s gift letter.

About the experience:

After receiving a beverage of your choice, one of our booksellers will sit down with you in our Reading Rooms to chat about your interests, hobbies, favourite genres, and favourite authors. This will allow our bookseller to get an idea of which books they think you would like.

Our bookseller will then go and collect a range of books from around the shop downstairs. Once they have collected an eclectic mix of exciting books, our bookseller will take the time to go through them all, helping you decide which books you would like to purchase with your gift voucher. The books will be placed into a Books On The Hill tote bag, which is included as part of the experience.

The whole experience will last around one hour.
